Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Muslim individuals and families who agree to the current IAOS Funeral & Burial Membership Program policies may apply. Final approval remains with the IAOS Funeral Committee.

Family membership may include the applicant, spouse, children, the applicant’s parents, and the spouse’s parents, subject to the current program rules and eligibility review.

No. The individual fee is $100 and the family fee is $200 as a one-time, non-refundable membership fee. Shared contributions are collected only when an eligible death occurs.

The current estimate is approximately $30 based on at least 100 active members. The amount may decrease as membership grows or increase if membership is lower or burial costs rise.

The current maximum reimbursement for an adult burial is $3,500, based on 2026 burial costs at Regina Muslim Cemetery and subject to current IAOS policy.

Submit the online membership form, complete the IAOS Pre-Authorized Payment Form, and email the completed payment form with a void cheque to funeral@iaosregina.com.

A void cheque can usually be downloaded from your bank’s mobile app or online banking website. Contact your bank if you need assistance.

Eligible services may include transfers within the approved distance, burial permit, body storage, Ghusl, Kafan, standard plywood casket, burial plot, grave opening and closing, granite marker, and fiberglass dome.

Transfer charges beyond 50 km from IAOS Masjid, burial or transfer outside Regina, and embalming or preservation required for delayed burial are not covered under the current policy.

Under the late-membership clause, the family is responsible for 50% of the eligible burial cost and the membership plan may cover the remaining approved 50%.

Yes. Anyone may support the Funeral & Burial Fund through the IAOS online donation page by selecting the Funeral and Burial Fund.

The IAOS Funeral & Burial Committee manages applications, program administration, and eligible funeral coordination according to approved IAOS policies.

The Funeral Committee reviews the submitted application and supporting documents and will contact the applicant using the email or phone number provided.

Contact funeral@iaosregina.com as soon as possible. Updated banking documents should be sent securely according to the Committee’s instructions.

Yes. Policies, contribution amounts, covered services, and conditions may be adjusted as the program is evaluated, costs change, and services expand.
