WHO WE ARE
For over 50 years, the Islamic Association of Saskatchewan, Regina Inc. (IAOS Regina) has been serving the Muslim community through education, worship, and community development in Regina and surrounding areas.
Established in the mid-1970s, IAOS Regina built the city’s first mosque in 1982. Today, it operates an Islamic Centre & Mosque in South Regina, where the community gathers for prayers, learning, and social activities. The Centre includes separate prayer areas for brothers and sisters, Wudhu facilities, a library, social area, and a kitchen.
To meet the needs of Regina’s growing Muslim population, IAOS Regina is now building As-Salam, the city’s first purpose-built mosque — a 20,700 sq. ft. facility that will accommodate about 1,000 worshippers. The new mosque will include a library, Imam’s and administrative offices, a board room, kitchen, food court, children’s gym, and a multi-purpose hall.
This new center will especially benefit our youth and families, and the community has been actively donating toward this vision for several years.
IAOS Regina is blessed with the leadership and knowledge of Imam Dr. Mohamed Masloh — Learn more or book an appointment.
and is supported by dedicated volunteers, committees, and board members.

COMMUNITY
REGINA ISLAMIC CENTRE & MOSQUE: The Centre serves as a focal point for worship, education, and unity among Regina’s diverse Muslim community.
It offers congregational prayers and Friday sermons, along with spiritual gatherings during Ramadan, such as Taraweeh, community iftars, and organizing and sponsoring the city-wide Eid prayers, fostering a strong sense of brotherhood and compassion.
MUSLIMS IN REGINA
Regina, the capital city of Saskatchewan, is home to a vibrant and growing Muslim community of around 20,000 people, representing approximately 8% to 8.6% of the city’s total population.
The history of Muslims in Saskatchewan dates back to the late 19th century, when the first Muslim settlers—primarily from Lebanon—arrived and established themselves as farmers in the southwestern region near Swift Current.
A new wave of Muslim immigrants arrived in the 1960s, coming from various parts of Asia and the Middle East. This diverse community continues to grow and contribute to Regina’s cultural, educational, and economic life, while maintaining strong ties to Islamic values and traditions.
